This is very, very difficult to write... I love my dog so much and raised him from a tiny pup but I feel that it will better for him if I find him a new family.  
 
For awhile I was able to keep him and take care of him on my own but due to an illness I moved out of my place and into my in-law's house (they already have two dogs on the property). He has been staying at my Mother's but due to her busy life (4 kids, not including myself) he has not been getting the attention and exercise he desperately needs. Also, due to the nature of his breed he has been regularly escaping the back yard. In fact, at the time of writing this, he has run off again and I've realized that I'm being cruel to something I love very much.  
 
Long story short, I want to find him a new family but I don't want to just hand him out to any rando that may mistreat him or worse. I want to find a stable, loving person (or people) that will be able to handle the energy of a large, young dog. Are there any suggestions/solutions?

kind of details can you provide? Breed of dog? Age? Neutered or intact? Temperament?

He turned a year old in June. He is an Inuit Husky. He is neutered and has his shots mostly up to date (I believe he has another coming up soon). He is very friendly but very big and a bit destructive. I believe he will grow out of that and with more attention and exercise would be less inclined to do so.

As someone in rescue, the best advise I can offer is to do interviews and ask lots of questions such as their activity level, weather they rent an apartment, house or own. Do they work or go to school, so you can get a feel for how long the dog would be alone to make sure they have the time for him. Also ask for a vet reference so you know he will be vetted regularly and well taken care of. When calling the vet you can ask about previous pets and if they were vetted regularly. Ect. Always trust your gut. If something feels off then move on to the next person.

Breeds can be destructive when bored and not getting enough exercise. For anyone considering this dog don't hold that against him/her husky's need to be stimulated and with the OP struggling with an illness you can't blame them either. Husky's are a great breed but need someone who knows how to handle them. I hope you find the right home for your beloved pup.
