Anybody have any tried and true methods to get rid of cat urine smell out of carpet....other than replacing it?

If you have a little green machine (bissell) I would use it. And Natures Miracle spray you can buy it at Pet Lovers or Pet Valu or online. There's diff kinds and sizes. Only type of urine spray that actually works.

Pet valu has an amazing product. White bottle. Ask them. They make it for dogs too. My mom’s Maine coon cat peed all over her futon and you’d never know it. I’ve used the dog one and it’s incredible. Safe to use around pets too. Gets rid of the enzymes.

On Park sells a concentrated enzyme cleaner called "Gobble". I use it all the time and it works to neutralize the cat pee.  
 
It also works for smelly drains, dish or clothes washers that smell.....

Made a paste and scrubbed it in with a scrub brush then rinsed really well. Worked great for me!

I sincerely hope it works for you, but it did not for us. Nothing did and we tried everything suggested to us and online. After 2 weeks of trying, we finally had to rip out carpet, underlay, and seal the sub floor with an oil based primer so the smell in it would stop. We also had to cut out drywall on two walls (because she sprayed up 2 walls). It was the worst thing to deal with! I hope we never have to go through that again.

Absolutely agree there! That’s the reason we don’t own a cat!! Nothing seems to work I’ve heard!!

If you have used other products first then the Natures Miracle is less likely to work. If it is the first/only thing you use, it is very effective.  
 
Of course if there has been enough urine thay it has soaked through the carpet and into the wood beneath-then treating the carpet will not eliminate odor from the flooring below.

a cat can do a lot of damages to your house nothing worked for me with all the amount of different products I have used and carpet cleaning. You clean the carpet but the urine cat not only is in the carpet but also behind baseboards and window casings. After all the changing the cat may redo it again so you have a cat that urinates in your stuff kick the cat outside if you keep it it will cost you a pile of money and vet visit and their bills are not cheap. Bye bye cat
