I am very interested to know if people can actually make money (a decent living) from the “from home” type jobs. Like Avon, thrive, modere, etc. If so, can you give me a estimate of what you earn doing this per month? Sure it fluctuates from month to month but wonder if it’s something do-able

I think MLM type work from home jobs hugely depend on the marketing effort youre willing to put in. I know people who make amazing money through these companies and others who make hardly anything and it largely is based on who you know and whether or not you have a “salesy” drive. Brandon, in my opinion, isnt big enough to support more than a few promoters from each MLM company, but if youre willing to promote hugely online, it could work. You also have to be willing to spend quite a bit of money to keep up with promoting the products youre trying to sell.

What I gathered. I see so many people advertising on Facebook, Instagram and if they are really annoying, I unfollow them. So it make sense that there’s little money in it

Yes, you can make a decent living with MLM companies, but it's not that easy. You have to be extremely passionate about the products you are using/selling. Even then, it can be difficult, especially in a smaller area like Brandon.  
There are several MLM companies that I buy products from and that I enjoy. For example, I love pampered chef products, but I am just not that into them that I could make a living selling them. There are other's like Young Living oils that I use a ton. I have a huge stock of oils and other products from their company, but I still do not think I could actually make a living just off of selling them.  
I do not have the personality to host parties or classes for one thing. There is also the component that is working out of the home as well. You may have to be set up at craft shows, fairs, etc. for several days in a row to actually push product as well. That is no different than working retail in my opinion. Once you are up at the higher levels where you can make a decent income, you are often travelling to conferences with the company, etc.  
What I see most of the time is moms on mat leave or people who's jobs don't pay just quite enough, doing these MLM businesses just to make an extra few hundred dollars here and there for themselves. I think it's pretty rare to see people actually replacing a full income off of an MLM company.

When I was 18 and desperate for a job I showed up for an "interview" at Kirby vacuum...after the 2 hour song and dance about how much I can sell this vacuum for ($2000) I'm told the beauty of it is I only pay $800 so I keep $1200!!! I'm going to be rich!!! sell just 1 vacuum every 3 days and that's $12,000/month!!...we weren't selling vacuums for $2000 they were selling them to us for $800.  
 
I also applied to another vaguely worded ad back then that ended up being a knife salesman position...same thing. Sell these knives for $1200...I only paid $600 per set.  
 
These multi level marketing systems always have huge buy ins like $500 for your sales kit full of samples and their videos etc. They don't care if you sell anything and if by chance you do GREAT they win every time.  
 
A quick test to determine wether a job is legit or not is "Do I have to pay to start this job". That's not like a plumber has to pay for school and tools, I mean do you have to give this company offering you the job money before they'll hire you?

There's so many mlms out there, and most go nowhere unless you have an absolute drive to do it. I signed up under senegence but mostly for myself for the discounts. It gets really annoying when you get a ton of messages on FB about it though I'll say that. I got sucked into buying younique and that make up is god aweful.

When I wanted to stay home with my kids, I started a home daycare. Turned out that I LOVED doing it and did it for many, many years. I didn't get rich, but it did bring in some much needed extra cash.

I've tried MLM & home child care, and I've found that just concentrating of being home was the best "paid" job I could find. There's value in the things you do at home to save money, and if you start assessing those things you'll be surprised how much you can "make".
