i was thinking about adding a debit machine to my business,  
just wondering what's a good company to use and why?

Prices are reasonable and you can use it off your phone.  
First Data is expensive and getting out the contract is like breaking up with the mafia. Moneris is good, but Square has the best start up fees -

in need to have a machine because i have 3 employees i don't think an phone would be best.

We have the executive membership with Costco and therefore get great deals on many business products, including Elavon for our debit and credit processing. It was 15 bucks a month but I bought my machine instead and now just pay processing fees, which are among the lowest around.  
 
For all the guys who have iPads in their trucks, we use Payfirma - they just enter the info and I get the receipt sent to me to forward to the customer.

Most banks have partnerships with specific companies so it’s a good idea to see if you can get a deal through the institution that holds your business account.
