Maybe I’ve got an understanding problem, but I see a big difference in the idea of can’t work, and don’t work. If you are disabled and can’t work it certainly doesn’t mean you don’t want to work. If a person has worked and been a benefit to society just doesnt seem completely correct to push them into complete poverty, a disability is not like retirement, you don’t get to plan for it, and if a person were to buy every type of insurance out there for every occurrence, you likely would be in poverty while working.
