Can you get or apply for child support while you are pregnant? What if you have never lived with the possible parent in question? Do you have to prove genetically who the father is?

If he’s just a “possible parent” and not a “for sure” one then yes, I think a DNA test would be needed lol  
 
My understanding is that child support is for the child. I am curious as to what the financial support would be used for while pregnant? Not saying you can’t because I really don’t know, just curious as what it would be used for?

The father can request a paternity test to be done. I had this happen, and I had to comply if I wanted child support. It was a waste of time and money (he ended up having to pay forgot), was just being difficult, he knew the child was his, which the paternity test proved. He was ordered to pay support.

The father is required to pay child support.. I dont know about during pregnancy but a lawyer is a good idea.. check into legal aid for a lawyer.

No support payable until the child is born and paternity is proven.

I'm wondering if the OP is needing some financial support while pregnant, hence the question.  
 
There is a prenatal benefit available for Manitobans whose income is under $32,000. That might be helpful to the OP as well.

Also, it will take time to get support payments happening once baby is born. However, you will also get the child tax benefit.
