Who did you go through? What type of plans do you have? How much is the cost monthly/yearly?

It's going to vary with everyone. It will depend on age, health, smoking habits, and what the purpose of the insurance is for. I carry term insurance on myself now. I have debt and a young family so term is a cheaper option for me now. I will most likely convert it to a whole life plan eventually. I have a 10 year term, $500,000 in coverage and I pay about $35. Once my term is up the rate will go up if I keep the same coverage.

i have also been thinking of life insurance policies but there is so many options, hard to know where to start, im wondering for those who do carry a policy what do you have and why did you choose the particular policy?

Make sure that the person that you see has multiple options for insurance. Independants usually contract through all insurance companies, so you get the best price for the best product. The sunlife guys usually only sell sunlife, limiting options. There are multiple options, not just life insurance, but also critical illness and long term care plans are becoming more and more important as people are being diagnosed with cancer and strokes so often now, and still living long full lives. Is $27/month and is a $500,000 term policy for 20 years. Thought that was a pretty good deal. I also get three times my salary through my work benefits for my beneficiary. I'm worth way more dead than alive!

I go through sun life $500,000 but I pay $330 a month After so many years it pays for itself and I could take the money out. Kind of like a savings account but your protected in case of something drastic
