Where to go for mortgage?

Hey guys!

I am just starting to look into buying my first home, and I'm looking for some advice/tips in terms of where the best place to go to seek a mortgage (pre-approved) is, or what your personal experiences have been.

Bank first, they might have a good mortgage low are interest rate.
If you are banking with RBC, try to get in contact with Trevor 573 9660.
He is very good. and Contact Ron 761-5656 at Royal Lepage for house.
These Guys got us our first house with ease and stress free

Never go to a bank.

Banks don't work for your best interest. The bank only works for your money. Go to Chris or one of the brokers at Centum Mortgage. You WILL get a better rate than what the banks will ever give you, and you pay NOTHING for Centum to find you the best rate. We saved tens of thousand because we chose wisely, and went with Centum. It was our best, and easiest choice ever!

I signed at 2.65% for a 5 year mortgage. I wonder what other peoples rates are? Care to share?

In 2013 I got 2.84% on a 5 year fixed, when banks were around 2.99%

from a bank right now is 2.49 % on a 5 yr fixed. Can Centum or any broker do better than this? As I stated on another discussion, at PC financial you can get 2.47 %-5 yr fixed or 2.39 %-4 yr fixed and with bonuses of $500 cash and 340,000 pc points.

I can't really say, you'd have to go in and talk to him.

Looking on their website though they list 2.44% 5 year fixed. They might be able to find something a touch lower, but I don't really know.

yesterday but didn't leave with good news. Their 5 yr fixed term rate is 2.44 % but seeing as I am looking at a mobile home, the best they could do is 3.1%. It turns out not very many lenders want to give a mortgages for mobile homes so the rates tend to be much higher. cheers
