I am just curious what others are paying for rent in Brandon. I am living in a 2 bedroom apartment that was built in the 70s and pay $710 a month. The cookie cutter building next door has 2 bedroom suites for $535 a month. (Not too sure how to feel about that...)  
 
Anyways, I am looking for cheaper housing and am just wondering what down sizing to a 1 bedroom goes for these days.

I think that is probably considered cheap in the grand scheme of things. I paid $800 plus hydro in Brandon 9 years ago for a 2 bedroom. I’m interested to hear what others a paying for a 2 bedroom.

We are currently renting a 2 bedroom for $895 plus utilities.

Mine is over $1,000. The only thing that's been updated was the kitchen cupboards 2 weeks before I moved here. It's almost been 7 years since then.

I didn't think you can find a room for rent cheaper that $600 a month these days. And that is a room, not an apartment.

Is this Manitoba Housing that you live in? We have rentals (2bed/2bath) that charge $1250-1500/month (+ or - utilities/condo fees): these rentals are not MB Housing units. We also have room(s) for rent that vary in price from $450-$600/month (furniture provided, shared costs amongst utilities, wifi etc.): these rooms are not MB Housing.

Pay around 760. For a 2 bedroom plus hydro, and coin opp laundry (witch costs around 5/load) and the building im in was built in the 60s!?!? But not close to anything.

575/month plus hydro, two bedroom apartment, built in 70s, single occupancy though.

You cannot come here and throw a rent amount.  
You cannot compare all the 2 bedroom unit the same rent amount. Some may be bigger or look better or what else comes with the rent that some may not have or more up to date and services i:ncluded or not.

I sent a 2 bedroom for 965 plus hydro. And that's a "steal" nowadays

What is the address of the 2 bedroom suites for $535 a month.

I rent a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, storage room and laundry. Plus hydro for 950 a month.

Am i paying to much for a 2 bedroom house its $350,000 on the west end and $125,000 on the east end? Am I paying to much for a 4 door car? Without knowing more information no comparison can be made.  
 
$535 for a 2 bedroom is Brandon is extremely cheap there will be a reason.

I agree with activex there are multiple factors that go into setting the cost of rent. i.e location, is hydro included.  
looking at your next-door neighbor's rent and saying you pay too much is wrong

$10K down, $481 PIT per month, two story plus basement, 2 1/2 bathrooms. All told, about 1400 sq ft. Yard, garden, garage.

We pay $1500 + hydro/waterbfor a 3 bedroom house with yard.

I'm in a mobile park. It's all good. Good neighbors. 1000 sq. foot. Nice little yard. If you can have the mobile paid for it's cheap living. Loving it.

4 yrs ago for $120,000 with four small bedrooms and 2 baths . I pay $730 a month for my mortgage, property tax and insurance included. So, better buy a cheap house it is cheaper to pay mortgage than rent. It is also a good investment

I think your rent is pretty decent. Besides. Why look for a nicer apartment and pay more rent when you could save those extra dollars and be closer to home ownership.

I pay $782 for a decent size 1 bedroom. I might end moving out of here this or next year. I've seen my rent go up by $267 in the last 10 years over a new roof for the apartment(2 years ago) and a new boiler (roughly 5 years ago). The Landlord isn't very interested in fixing anything. Complaining to the renters board has gone to next to death ears. He got himself unpopular here to the point where he hired a building manager last summer, nice guy but he's swamped with his own stuff.  
 
Be fortunate of what you are paying for 2 bedroom.

My rent is $934, but i:ncludes Heat, Water & Hydro. All we pay is WiFi and Coin Operated Laundry. Not to sure the year of the building. The kitchen has been updated and comes with a dishwasher, fridge and stove.

I’m paying $800 per month plus utilities for a small 2 bedroom house in a very small town. Believe me. You’re getting a deal, especially in Brandon.

We live in a newly renovated building large - 2 bedrooms - $800/month and very well maintained  
 
2 years ago we were paying 1 bedroom $680 and old old old. Cupboards were kinda like plywood doors , And not well maintained and in the west end!

Newer 2 bedroom basement suite is $1000 all inclusive.  
includes utilities, wifi and has in-suite laundry & dishwasher.

Which mobile home park? Those I've looked at have much higher lot rent.

I pay $649 a month for 880sq ft 2 bedroom apt with in suite laundry, building is mid 80's in a very nice area of town

I had no idea you could rent a 2 bedroom apartment for only $710 a month. The last time I rented a 2 bedroom apartment was almost 10 years ago and it was $845/ month. I thought that was pretty good at the time. I think you should be happy with what you have, sounds like a pretty low amount to me.
