There were a couple of suggestions in the Winnipeg slogan discussion, but it appears that Brandon is now also seriously looking at a change to a more "tangible" slogan.... something that I thought was worthy of it's own thread.
I would like to keep this as a serious brainstorm on ideas to see if we can come up with something that might help the folks at city hall out. We have a lot of creative people on here that I'm sure can come up with some fun ones too, so I've started a
completely separate discussion for them.
Just as the beginnings of a brainstorm, here are a few thoughts I'd call tangible that come to mind that could be the basis for something...
- winding (Assiniboine)
- view/valley - our view from the North hill is very distinctive compared to your typical prairie city.
- wheat (probably could have guessed this one)
- it sounds like Winnipeg is already going to lay claim to this, but we could make a decent case for being in the Centre of Canada/North America (our 50 latitude, 100 longitude)... or the gateway to the West.
- great reputation for people volunteering/going out of their way (friendliness?)
- growing - both in terms of population and business. Perhaps not as distinctive since many urban prairie centres are also growing quite steadily.
