I was planning on taking in the Home Show but have no plans for the house so I figured I would save the $20 bucks for my wife and I to wander. What were people's thoughts? If you were shopping for something was there what you wanted at the show? Enough vendors to make an informed decision? Was it too costly to window shop? I like home automation and gadgets. Was there something there that gave you a wow factor?  
 
I won't compare the cost to the movies, hockey game, etc. One is entertainment and one is shopping. If you classify shopping as entertainment that is your choice lol. I would like to see admission topped at $5 bucks.

If I was looking to renovate my kitchen or a frequent shopping network purchaser then it would be up my alley. It had a little bit of everything not sure I will be back next year at 10/person but we did walk away with a purchase and a few brochures on products we will be interested down the line maybe 6months or so.

Have no problem with dropping a 10 dollar bill to enjoy an afternoon if there is value attached.  
 
Not for this one this year. Been going for years. It used to be a reasonable cost and family friendly (with a certain amount going to charity). It's just the same thing year after year. Couldn't justify it this year for just the social factor of bumping into people.  
 
Having said that, I do know how hard the exhibitors work to get their displays looking great. It's a lot of work and kudos to them for spending the dough and putting in hours of working with loading, getting displays set up and unloading. I hope many got some good return on investment with some good leads, but personally, it wasn't for me this year just walking around for $10.

We attended with specific projects in mind that we would like to get information on and/or set up a time to get a quote on. Two of the projects we were unable to get anything on and the other one we did find two companies that will be coming out to do a quote. There were a lot of hotels and town tourism booths. Unless I missed them, I did not see any plumbers, electricians, roofers, etc (I was expecting more trades people that would be able to do renos and remodelling, I guess).

Couldn't justify the $10 per person for the limited exhibitors. The exhibitors already pay for a booth, why should the visitors have to pay too? If it is for a donation, then I should be able to choose whether I want to donate or not.  
 
Look at Ag Days. The place is packed with exhibitors, who pay to be there, and admittance is free. The place is packed with visitors.  
 
The Pik a Dilly, 4 Seasons, and Murray's events are all free, as are many other events.

We were quite happy. It was a great date afternoon with lots of things to talk about. Always neat to see Brandon businesses showcasing their wares!
