Shortly I will be needing help 4-6 hrs a day with my booked weeks of holidays needing 8 hr days. Is this too broad of hours for someone to work with? Training hours might start at 3 hr shifts with progression to longer as the work comes in. I have never had to hire a part time worker so this area is a little new to me. " |

I am working part time/casual.
I got to make my own hours - but I do four to six hour shift 3 days a week and if I have to go in on the other two days, it is only for a couple of hours in the afternoon.
I like the broad hours - but I can come and go as I wish. When the work is done, I am done - quite a lot of flexibility.
So really - if you call it casual, they come in and stay as long as they are needed. Maybe more at month end, payroll weeks, etc.
