Just saw another fire truck go bombing down 18th street. Couldn't make out where it was from. Possibly Wawanesa as the above poster mentioned.

Please keep in mind than many lights are out at the moment including 1st and Victoria and 1st and Princess.

For context on how this has spread, crew is looking over the construction site 6 blocks away at around 2nd and Pacific. Small pieces of burnt stuff all over the place that they say is from the fire (the area they were at was cleared over from the fire that took place there a few years ago). Picture added. Thought is that this area and presumably others were very lucky that it didn’t spread there also.

PLEASE, don't flick your cigarettes out the car window.
Not saying that this is what started these fires, but the possibilities of starting other fires this way when it's this dry out....I really don't want to see other people loose their way of life or homes.

Massey building looks hopefully to have very little if any burning, though still being sprayed from all directions. Still not completely over as look to be battling active flames in the building to the East of where Christie’s was (picture added)

Massey building looks like the roof is caving in on north side. Structural problems for sure.

Is this senior housing or family units? In any case, horrible for people to be evacuated and face the possibility of losing their homes.
Hoping for the best, so sorry for all affected by this tragedy.
Mauve is right, PLEASE smokers, exercise extreme caution.

I live across tracks on Assiniboine and will be sharing pics and a video with fire department. Tragic event and hope there is no loss off of life. Rather strange hearing smoke detectors going of near a block away.

Think the 4 fire fighters on top of Colliers's are lucky to be alive as the entire north soffit was flames 10 minutes earlier.

I went to Red Cross to donate clothing. They are not taking them. They are not equipped to handle caring for the people and organizing donations. However, Brandon Bear Clan patrol is taking donations. They have been posting on their Facebook page what is needed. Currently cell phone chargers are. At about 7:00pm Red Cross said about 66 families have been checked in so far. I also went to go and get a recent picture of Massey Manor and Christie’s.

Was down there not too long ago, and the fire at what’s left of Christie’s and Collyers/Brandon Boxing is still going. Still quite a bit of flames coming from both and firefighters are working to put it out. Not much smoke coming from the Massey building though so I’m guessing it’s out and the beer vendors still smouldering.

The fire still burning at the Collyers building does not look good. Thick black smoke and large visible flames. Change in wind is taking the smoke in another direction. Crews are in for a long night. I hope nobody is standing and watching against that fence just North of the tracks that was lined with people earlier.... that will not be smoke you want to breath in much of. It is great to hear there’s an effort to help those who are from the Massey building. I can’t imagine waking up this morning like any other morning and not having a home to go back to at night. My heart goes out to all effected And I hope folks will give where needs are identified.

To the firefighters in Brandon and from outside the city thank you for your work today! And to the one on that ladder trying to control the fire on Christie's Office, just WOW!! What a brave man, I know it’s your job but still...I feared for your life!
And what’s Christie’s chimney made of? Is the only thing left standing!!

City has put out a statement this evening on the current status of the fire and its impact (see link below). From the release, there are over 100 evacuees in hotel. No fatalities or injuries are reported. Cause is unknown but under investigation:
