Just caught a taxi home and saw a fire blazing down the four hundred block on second.  
 
Really hoping that it's well contained, and on its way out.  
 
Hats off to the Brandon City Fire Department for all the hard work, and hours they've been putting in.

I would add the police too I think it is not always picnic for them they have to make sure with the crowds around are stay safe or they will get the slap first by the people if anything goes wrong

What's the need to be the OMG squad and go running every time a crisis occurs?! You pay for cable. Watch the news and let people do their jobs!

Indeed. I try not to make myself in the way in such situations. I wouldn't appreciate the destruction of my livelihood as a live spectacle, so I try and follow that same rule in terms of others too.

So what was on fire? I have seen or heard a thing about this so far.

I live on the block and am unsure there was a fire. A tree came down in someone's backyard and took out the power line to their house. No one was hurt and property damage seems minimal.  
 
There were several police cars and at least one ambulance and firetruck all with their lights blazing, so perhaps it appeared as though there was a fire.

For the sake of discussion, a brief summary:  
 
A hydro line was seen having sparks just after midnight. Fire spread to and was contained to the main level of the home. Not seen as suspicious but still under investigation.

Thanks for the info folks. Never wanted to crowd around there. It was late enough as it is.  
 
Glad they were able to contain the situation. I thought the light I saw coming from that yard looked suspiciously like a work light. But the driver sounded convinced it was flame.  
 
I didn't see any police there personally, but I didn't go looking around. I'm sure they do a fine job around the city as well.
