That idea was a brilliant fabrication. It was, and probably still is (I don't know, I haven't had TV in ages), the central pillar of their marketing strategy: that Tim Hortons is one of the things that define us as Canadians.
I don't care for most of their food/drink, but they're good corporate citizens in the sense that they sponsor a lot of community things like sports teams.
