Geocaching is a great....

..... activity to do with the kids.
Things to remember
..cache in trash out..... it is considered good etiquette to carry a small bag with you to bring your garbage out along with other litter you can or are willing to pick up.
.... take one leave one ..... many caches are full of trinkets and treasure. Many are unique to the cacher who left it. You are welcome to take what you like but it is good etiquette to leave something behind in its place. NEVER LEAVE FOOD!
— respect the trackables . Some items, like travel bugs, are given a goal. If you are able to help it along its way to meeting that goal, then by all means take it and do so. Be sure to log your find and let them
Know you will move it along.
—— always sign the log, period.
—- beware of muggles. Muggles are folks who might be around for reasons other than geocaching. You DO NOT want to reveal the location of the cache to anyone.
—— it is most important to have fun. Come up with a name for your group. Create traditions around the event. In our group ( Everyonelovesanut ) Whoever finds the most is crowned the Cache King or Cache Queen.
As for Apps we use The Geocaching App( Green Icon divided into for squares)
It is easy to use, has online logging, you can take pictures of interesting things along the way and post them, can log trackables, most importantly it’s free to use. There is in app purchases should you desire an upgrade.
Good luck and Happy caching
