Does anyone know, is the access to the Town Centre parkade still open with the road closures for the event today?

this little commotion will not harm downtown,it is already on life support and anything that will bring people downtown is a positive thing. hope that it is a success for the organizers

I'm happy to report that even though the weather was cool and rainy tonight, the downtown was buzzing with people for Food Truck Wars. People didn't seem to have issues finding parking and didn't seem to be deterred. It was set up far better downtown this year than it was at the Vic Inn. Get downtown and stop griping, people: downtown is where it's at!

Had a great time, parking wasn’t an issue, good food, good atmosphere. Definitely prefer the location. Great job organizers and vendors!

Is the carnival free or is it buy tickets, etc?

We had a great time last night! Good food, good music and parking was not an issue at all. We parked at the town centre parkade and it was free when we got there around 7.  
Thank you to everyone involved in making this event possible.

No the rides are not free. You can buy individual tickets example 10 tickets for $10 (each ride takes 2-5 tickets), or you can buy an unlimited pass for $32.  
We went last night and had a great time. Will be heading back to food truck wars again today!

went later in the eve, in the rain....sad the rides weren't going...and most of the food trucks were already shut down early due to attendance I suppose...but we loved the food, saw some friends and were impressed...

We went last night and parked in the town center parcade. Its accessible from Princess Ave. There was hardly anyone parked in there at all. The one suggestion for improvement I would have is more garbage cans, we had trouble finding any, when we did it was overflowing.

We went last night and thought it was good. My only suggestion would be to not have the trucks setup across from each other on the one street. The lines were a bit confusing/mixed up and it makes hard for people who are just walking by  
 
Fun little street fair put on though! We’re headed back today with different people and hoping to get a churro....the line up was looooong last night

So it will be like AgDays for attendance and thats a gong show.

We enjoyed it. Went for lunch today and the line ups weren't bad at all.  
Parking was relatively easy, just don't go in expecting to park close and be prepared to walk but you'll find somewhere.  
The rides were a good addition. My kid loved it and we didn't have to pay just to get in so total bonus for us!  
We tried the poutine king which was ok, definitely not the best poutine I've had. Deep fried cheese curds were delicious. Downside was I didn't feel like we were getting a lot for our money with those two.  
Definitely try the churros. Totally worth waiting in line for! The filled ones are AMAZING!

so as I said this isn't really an event for those with mobility issues and as the person on page one said if you cant walk don't bother Brandon doesn't give a damb bout serving you. and to those who say come on down and check out the parking for yourself yeah I will drive a 100 miles to find out a piss poor location does not work for my mobility challenged mother. and yes rural people would like to take advantage of rare events like this too

Drive up close, drop your mom off and go park. Really that simple. Went last night and it was good. Wish it was warmer weather but that can’t be helped. Maybe having it earlier in the season? June before schools out or end August before long weekend. Might help.

This might be the problem with taking someone's online word. The Town Center parkade is open for parking. You could drop off anyone with mobility issues on the corner of 8th and princess, which is exactly where the event is taking place, then go park in the parkade. The signage might be a little confusing for those have been down there why people don't know this.

Parking is NOT an issue at all!! The parkade was empty when we got there around 2 and is still empty and we just left. Lots and lots of parking and it’s NOT far at all for those with mobility issues.  
 
Line ups were busier last night which surprised me. There was 8 of us today and we all got back to the picnic table around same time after going to different trucks to get what we wanted. The churros line was still the longest today! So good!! The kids had fun on the rides and no lines for those at all!

There is lots of parking all over the place. Lines moved fast and everyone had a smile on their face.  
 
I’d say it’s a success. If you’re holding back don’t. If you don’t participate in the things around town you shouldn’t complain that “there’s nothing to do”.

Went to food truck wars today at 5 pm (Dinner time ) went to Better than Baba''s was awesome we ordered and waited a short time for our food but was well worth the wait a little confusing as to where the order line was.  
there were lots of people as it was dinner time the parking for those of you thinking parking would be an issue we parked by the city hall and walked a WHOLE two blocks that being said we could have parked right beside the venues in the Hydro lot which didn''t have many cars in it at all for that time of day.  
So those of you complaining about parking QUIT complaining before you even try to park down there.  
The little carnival was awesome as lots of little kids enjoying themselves, the food trucks were decently spaced out and the music in the park sounded awesome.  
HATS OFF TO THE ORGANIZERS FOR A TERRIFIC EVENT.  
looking forward to going again maybe tomorrow and again next year.

We had an awesome lunch..the kids had a fantastic time on the rides. We tried out numerous trucks...tater tot poutine, tacos, pickerel and chips, specialty grilled cheese, churros, donairs and deep fried cheese curds. It was all SUPER!! The kids really want to go again tomorrow. It was nice to see happy crowds downtown. We had no issue with parking, and even found a place to sit in the park. Really nice to see lots of garbage cans around..the park wasn't full of litter. What a great event

Went around lunch, parking was no issue. Found a spot close to it, but the town centre parking is the best spot to park.  
 
I found it to be less busy than last year.. but maybe that because there were more trucks and/or the weather. I could think tomorrow will be even lesser of a crowd since it suppose to be raining all day.  
 
I think the location was actually pretty decent. The tots food truck was really good.

We were there from about 6-9 and it was great! Lines weren't that long considering the amount of people! We parked in the parkade and there were tons of spots left. Went to about 6 different trucks, all delicious. Going to try and go again tomorrow.

Parking is always a issue,especially for people with mobility issues. The rest of us always want to be the closest to the mall/store doors etc. The town centre of course is a great option and for most of us very walkable. The fair less so.I Like the fact that even if no one stops at the shops this weekend the fact we all got out of our cars and walked by them etc is helpful. In the day time downtown is full of nice surprises. A good walk past those shops may peak interests for next time. Some really good coffee shops down there. Enjoy the events.

Where is the KYU truck? Could not find it last night . Apparently it has been the winner of the food truck wars for the last four years. Was looking forward to trying it out ? All in all it is a fabulous event and I hope it comes to Brandon every year . This city was long overdue for something new and exciting. Hats off to the organizers of this event and ribfest as well .

Had the walleye wagon and some of the worst fish and chips I have had. I was so looking forward to this. Fries were soggy and fish was chewy. Pint size amount of tartar. You could tell a bunch was pre cooked as it only took like two minutes to get the food. $18.00 not worth it.  
 
Better than Babbas: really really good, price was okay for what you got. The platter was decent.  
 
Mikey D- loaded fires were awesome and the brisket was really good.  
 
Smoke and Hog- brisket was chewy we thought.  
 
My wife had the jerk chicken wrap but for the price was expecting something bigger, but was very flavour excellent.  
 
Mini Donuts and Lemonade: can’t go wrong there.  
 
Parking was a hassle but we managed and we have three little kids.
