What a waste

I was checking out some of the new construction in the south end. I could not believe the amout of wasted material in the garbage bins. I know time is money and to messing around with off cuts can be a waste of time. Is there something we could use the off cuts of plywood, 2*4s, 2*6s and drywall. I know when I was in the boyscouts we made different woodworking projects like bird houses.
There must be some groups or people at home that could use this stuff.
I repaired a hole in the wall with a off cut of drywall.
It just seems like a waste to fill our landfills with this material.
What do the rest think????
