Largest refinery in Canada is on fire. Pump prices will likely go up right away.

Would that be something. An oil refinery which gets unethical oil from Saudi et al and not a single drop Canadian oil be responsible for a price increase?  
 
By the way, don't complain too badly with the gas prices in Brandon. I saw it as high as 1.30 per liter at a tourist trap gas station in The Pas (Michaels) when I was there for Thanksgiving Weekend.

as if they need an excuse to bump prices up

I thought most gas stations get their fuel from over seas/USA. Wasn’t co-op only actually Canadian made fuel?  
If true makes you wonder why they charge same rates as gas that has to be imported....

to the Brandon Sun the refinery was mostly already shut down for maintenance so just an excuse to increase prices

It is 107.9 at shell in the corral centre. But Florida May get a hurricane so it should go up 20 cents soon.

FWIW almost 40% capacity lost yesterday in Gulf of Mexico as Cat 4 (maybe even Cat 5) Michael plows through...

Brandon is in the middle of a gas war. Across the border in Saskatchewan, it is 124.9. in North Dakota, it is 2.89/US gallon

Just drove by Superstore and Mobil is up to 124.9

It’s still at 1.07 most places. I’m guessing the big jump will be there in the morning.

Gas has jumped to 124.6 at some stations in Winnipeg according to GasBuddy so that’s probably why it’s going up here

at an all time low, like $15 a barrel?

This article was in the Calgary Herald and have a bit of information on the discounts. There is a lot of noise being made about pipeline capacity and rising Canadian oil supply, the one number that seems to be hard to find is Canadian deliveries of crude to the US.  
In the last few years the laws regarding the selling of crude oil were changed in the US, and it would be interesting to know how much of our cheap Canadian oil is being blended and sold on the international market.
