Come on really... Some drivers when you clearly see a novice driver sign up in the back window you don’t need to drive like idiots. Honking horn and reving your engine, tail gating then passing and cutting the novice driver off shows just how much you don’t deserve your license.  
 
What’s up these days and why is it so important you to put others at risk due to your lack of patience!!!  
 
Please be aware there are people wanting to learn and we should all be respecting the road rules and drive respectfully.  
 
I will be putting on my dash cam and reporting next time this happens and see how you work your way outta that one!!

I understand where you’re coming from but if other drivers are to the point of reving their engines and honking, the novice driver is likely driving 20-30km on a busy street such has Vic or 18th where the flow of traffic is generally between 48-60km/hr. The novice driver should likely practice on a quieter street until they’re less nervous. I’m not saying that it’s right that ppl are impatiently/obnoxiously honking but I’m not going to lie, it does make me wonder ‘what the heck’ when someone is driving 30km or less down a 50km/hr speed limit street in good weather conditions.

I know people that admit to purposely aggravating novice drivers with this sort of behaviour. It is not the fault of the novice driver. Some people are clearly not as mature as the novice drivers.

We were all novice drivers at one time. Beginners need to learn to drive in all types of traffic conditions. They shouldn't have to learn defensive driving right off the bat because of a few ignorant "A" holes who want to engage them in a game of chicken, or other antics simply to frighten them. REMEMBER you to were once a novice driver - so give them some consideration - better to arrive at your destination a minute later then have to deal with an accident because of your inconsiderate behavior.

Remember too, that even experienced drivers may be experiencing difficulties. Learning to handle a manual transmission can make even a journeyman feel like a novice.

Why do you even have a sticker that says Novice Driver? Judging by half the people out there they too are novice drivers. Don't single out the person. Honestly unless there was an accident I don't see what wasting the police time of reviewing a dash cam cutting off a person or revving an engine is going to do. This isn't like swimming lessons and it gets harder as you go....Not like new drivers go from Rural roads, to small towns, to cities, graduated driving levels. They jump into the deep end in the city and go. Everywhere you go there is always an a-hole. Gotta learn to be able to deal with it.

I agree that everyone needs to learn to drive in all situations. This young driver that I witnessed was doing the speed limit from what I could tell, and was driving very well. I would say more experienced that I have come across. I was actually was the vehicle behind the one doing the intimidation and was thinking omg this person is being a total “A” and what is their problem. To my surprise when the car passed this young person is when I seen the novice driver sign in the back window. To the novice driver you handled the situation very well and drove like a pro! People need the patience of you. Forget those “A” holes and I hope to see you on the road again.

Novice driver signs are provided by MPI and are recommended for the novice driver while learning to drive. It is used to alert other drivers of your novice driver status, not to single anyone out. The hope is that fellow drivers will be patient while you are learning your way around the roads
