What time does everyone start?

My kids start 6ish, but we have kids coming to our door as early as 5pm most years.

Around 5:30

Had our first group of 4 at about 4:45. Just starting to see a few more out now

But I have noticed a considerable decline in the amount of kids we had this year. Granted I have 2 young kids but I got home at 5:30 and my wife took the boys up the street till 8 and we had 9 kids and 1 food donation treater.

It just started to slow down here. It was non stop from 5-8!

Got a giant bowl of candy here. 2 groups 5 kids total

158 trick or treaters in Brooke wood on Aurora. Started at 4:30. Lights out at 8:30

Are your neighbors lights on? I find more and more streets have dark houses than lit houses so those streets tend to get skipped

I was very surprised by the number of homes this year with their lights turned out. Not that I have anything against it, everyone can make their own choices just an observation. Kids still got way more than they will ever eat.

I took the kids out this year and hubby didn’t realize he had to turn the outside light on we only get about 15-20 usually but this year, 5 (all before the sun went down)

That says lots of light out etc that usually happens because people dont come at all. I had only my glass storm door shut and lights on and jackolantern out and lit up, I was super excited to hand out candy and I only got two groups of kids 7 total. Because there are only 3 houses on my half the block and on the next half is a seniors center and more houses further down so not a single person out walking everyone's driving and they just drive past. Super busy vehicle wise so I shut down at 7. So i spent money on all this candy and pumpkin and took time to carve it and wait when I could have been working on my house but no one stopped by so I'm not handing out candy anymore. And the past 5 years I've lived here including last year had lots kids. Its everyone being to lazy and driving everywhere now get out and walk, yes it's cold, just as cold as when I was a kid and we walked all the time everywhere. If I do hand out candy again I'll post a big sighn people in vehicles dont get candy only people walking lol. Anyways that's why I think ppl dont hand out candy as much you have one of those years then your done you can go to parts or work or whatever lol
