Manitoba now adds a environmental fee of 10 cents on every y  
Toy. I am a Grandma so not sure how long it has been there. Buying toys for Christmas.  
 
Such a cash grab tax.  
 
Reality check Government- no one throws toys out. They go from person to person then generation to generation.  
 
Garage sale to garage sale.

Toys are the most reusable item out there.

Did you buy an electronic toy, or a toy with an electronic component? Then yes, depending on what it is, there will be an environmental fee.

Toys, even the electronic ones, wear out and need to be disposed of eventually.

Is it on all toys or just electronic ones. Pretty sure it should be for just anything electric.

Also, with the quality of most of today's toys, I would argue that's the case. Maybe in the past, when things were well-made of durable materials, they might have been. But I throw out more broken toys than we pass on once they are beyond fixing (we're habitual fixers). There are, of course, some notable exceptions, but especially the electronic and trendy toys they break basically the first week.  
 
Even cheap electronics. We've been through 3 tablets in the past few years.
