Very curious to hear thoughts on what, if anything, should be done. I say let them be and don't do anything other than protect the islanders.

There are insurmountable language barrier that can not be overcome. When they see ships in the ocean or planes flying overhead, what is the thought process? Most recent the gentleman wanting to convey the word of the bible. They don't venture out. It makes zero sense to venture in. Curiosity killed the cat.

They should be left alone.

It is actually illegal to venture close to or on to North Sentinal Island.  
 
I believe if the people there wish to be left alone... leave them alone.  
 
There is no benefit to the rest of the planet to interfere with their culture but would be catastrophic to their culture if we did.  
 
Yes, it would be interesting to study them to learn how we all lived thousands of years ago but that is why we really don’t know. We have destroyed almost all of the societies that still live that way.  
 
They would not benefit from smartphones & wifi.  
 
Stay off the island & leave them alone.  
 
(This goes for “lost” tribes in South America & New Guinea too)

Just want to add: the people on that island may not have immunities to any illnesses visitors may bring. Just another reason to leave them in peace. Furthermore, their population has dwindled to only a handful of people left, Google it.

They have probably had past experience with outsiders landing on their island only to soon after have several of their own people become very ill and die. If that's what they associate with visiting strangers, then it's no wonder they are hostile to outsiders. Anyway, if they want to be left alone then we should leave them alone.

Should be a lesson to anyone trying to sell religion, anywhere.

I think anybody with common sense would know to stay the heck away from the North Sentinel Islands just based on what limited knowledge we have.  
 
That being said, I am surprised nobody has used current day technology to send in a remote controlled camera either via drone or maybe similar to the spherical "semi indestructible" camera's they use for filming polar bears or something similar. The equipment would all need to be sterilized before sending it in... but its not like we don't have the technology to find out more about these people should we one day decide to dig deeper into there lives! (Probably cost prohibited)  
 
Or we could just leave them alone, that seems to be working out pretty good!
