The Brandon Hills Model Railroad Club will be closing down it's location in the Brandon General Museum and Archives at the end of December. With the uncertainty of the future of BGMA, we decided to find a new location. We are planning to reopen in April with at least one layout up and running.  
 
So if you want see the current layouts, come on down before the end of December. The layouts will start to be taken down near the end of December.  
 
We will be moving to a new and bigger location at one of the other big museums in Brandon. It will be a bit of a drive though. But with the new location comes new and better layouts. In order to rebuild, the club will be shut down to the public once we close at BGMA.  
 
I've been designing the new N scale layout, and I think it will be enjoyed. It's going to incorporate scenes you will see in Southwest Manitoba.  
 
I'm planning to make videos showing the rebuild process and post them on our Youtube channel.  
 
But if your interested in model railroading, come join. You will see the process and what's required to build layouts.

If you watched the video, you will see that we are moving up to the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum at the airport. We got a section of the H-Hut that's located there. Sharing it with CASARA and museum archive storage. While it's a little out of the way and bit of a trek, accessibility and parking will be greatly improved.  
 
For the first little bit we won't be open. The plan is to get the HO layout up and running first, then have an opening in the Spring. The N scale layout will start once the HO is up and running.  
 
I'm planning to document the building with videos showing what goes into building a layout, from benchwork, track laying, electrical, scenery. It will also give you look behind the scenes of what the new layouts will look like. So follow the YouTube channel listed above.  
 
This Saturday (Dec. 22) will be our last open day at Brandon General Museum and Archives.
