In 2019 how the school tax rebate is changing which will either make your taxes go up or down depending upon your individual situation.  
 
Seems to be kept on the quiet it is coming from the Manitoba government not your Municalitity or city.  
 
Check for details where you live and or on the web for noticed.  
 
I am not providing more details as I might get it wrong especially with everyone differently.

I wish they would charge by business/dwelling. I hate the mill rate and assessed property value. I don't know what the new change is but would rather by units. That way when I want to improve my house or add a garage, why should taxes go up for improving my situation? No other bill charges you by the value of your home. Imagine if Westman cable said you live in a nicer home, you will be charged more.

Starting in 2019, the Education Property Tax Credit will be based on school taxes and the $250 deductible will be eliminated. The Seniors’ Education Property Tax Credit will also be based on the school tax portion.  
 
Annual school taxes that are $700 or more will receive the full rebate amount. With the elimination of the deductible, a renter paying $3,500 or more in rent per year will be eligible for the full $700 basic credit.
