it used to be that vehicles with daytime running lights would not have any dash lights on without the real lights being turned on. That seems to no longer be the case.
I've been in several vehicles in recent years where the dash is either electronic, or even if its analog, isl fully lit in daytime mode. the driver literally has no indication that anything is amiss. I consider this a fault of the manufacturers or standards body which has allowed this to occur.
I always try to remind any driver I meet on the road that their lights/blinkers/brake lights are out. They (usually) are appreciative
