I was driving towards Clear Lake this morning when some jacka$$ thought he could use the passing lane meant for the northbound traffic. What is wrong with people?!?? The 2 solid lines didn’t give you a heads up that it wasn’t your passing lane? That highway is dangerous enough without people not following the basic road rules!  
 
They just missed the end of my car as we passed each other. I don’t think they even realized that I was in the lane because we pretty much entered it at the same time but I wasn’t expecting the oncoming vehicle to be in my way. I think what saved us was that both our vehicles were still kinda angled from going into the lane (hopefully that makes sense haha)  
 
Quit being a stupid driver if this is something you do!

Stupid drivers everywhere.  
 
The problem with them is they will cause the accident and 9 times out of 10 walk away and the others do not.  
 
I had someone pass me on the shoulder going at least 90 km in a construction zone with one lane. Luckily he didn't kill anyone. Guess he felt entitled that his business was more important than anyone life.  
It is a laugh though when they go like mad and you look over at the stop light and they are right beside you.  
I have no solution to give unfortunately.

I know this isn’t the case here. But in some States the yellow line on a passing lane is dotted, and from the little bit of driving I’ve done in those areas it seemed to work reasonably well.

Last summer or the summer before, I found that out too. That in some places the passing lane is accessible to both directions of traffic.  
 
In this case, I don’t see how it could safely work. We entered the passing lane at pretty much the same time, probably neither of us expecting the other. A second before and we would have had a head on collision I’m betting. As it was, we almost side swept each other
