I currently put my newspapers in the blue bin...can newspapers be put in the green bin?

Didnt realize weeds were accepted in green bin. Thought the green bin was turned into compost. Will adding weeds into those bins not further introduce weeds to peoples yards? I've been throwing my weeds into black bin.

I could be wrong and hope I am so i can start putting them in my green bin without worrying about contributing to the problem.

If composting is done properly, the temperature of the material should reach a high enough temperature to ruin the germination of weed seeds.
I sometimes get concerned about the composting idea, it’s a great way to produce methane gas.
