Does anyone know if there will be celebrations/events at the Riverbank Discovery Centre going on all weekend ( since Canada Day falls on the Monday making it a long weekend)? Or will it just be on Canada Day, as usual?  
 
I tried looking at the Brandon city website and Brandon tourism but I couldn’t find my answer and I’m not sure where else to look online.  
 
The only event in Brandon I could see was on July 1, the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks Baseball Home Game at Andrews Field.

Souris has the right idea with doing fireworks the day before, disappointing that the city of Brandon didn't do this.

I think the rationale behind Souris having their fireworks at the end of June is linked to the town not wanting to pay the firefighters double time and a half to work the Stat. If nothing else, we Souris people (I grew up there) take pride in being a bit backwards to the rest of the province :-D

Just to clarify, the Whiskey Jacks double header at 1:35 and 4:05 on Monday only needs one to buy a ticket for either game, then can stay for both if so desire.

Its going to be difficult for those this year to go to the Discovery Centre/Riverbank for Canada Day celebrations if they can only rely on Transit for transportation. At Least offer a limited service for those on Canada Day...

so can't blame them for wanting to have the fireworks early to avoid paying that huge overtime bill.  
 
Good thing Brandon taxpayers have deep pockets so we can have the FW display on the same day

Looks like an absolutely perfect day to take everything in. Main question mark when it comes to the hourly forecast is by the time you get around 9pm and later where they’re calling for a 70% chance of rain or tstorms. Fingers crossed it holds off til after 11:30!

Tons of parking at Brandon as of now. Just drive up to the Disc Centre and they’re directing people into the big open field on site
