Went to the Brandon airport today. The road off Hwy 10 was TERRIBLE!! Who is responsible for its upkeep? I've seen better roads in Afghanistan. No joke! If you read this and have any influence or know the person in charge, point them to visit the site and send a truck to fix the craters!!

It is actually a provincial road. They are aware of the poor condition of it . The plan is to mill it down,widen the whole road and repave it soon. Hopefully the work begins within the next month.

You expect MIT to actually do something in this area of the province? They do as little as possible, or less. Very embarrassing maintenance, and could be dangerous.

Have a look at veteran's way where it meets the 110. Soon after they built the underpass the whole thing flooded out, and washed out the culverts on veteran's way. There is jagged metal and a 6 foot vertical drop, along with washed out shoulder. There should, at a minimum, be a guardrail in that spot. Heaven help the person who ends up sliding on that portion of the road in the winter.

Speaking of Veteran’s Way ...have you ever had a look at the pot holes on the 110 bridge that goes over the Assiniboine, no wonder the bridges don’t last and have to be replaced. I have never seen anyone even try to fix them for years and this is a truck route!

For the city to have a road like that going to the airport!!  
Municipal, Provincial , or city it needs repair now.  
We get an airport and then have to navigate around the holes on the road to it is ##$$%^&*  
Another problem is the 10 day parking in front of airport, those should be in long term  
You go to pick up somebody and there is no place to park because of long term vehicles

the person who is the City’s Director of Transportation should get on those problems.Job  
pays $123,000 and is in charge of the Airport,Transit  
and Fleet Services.There is no need for that road to  
be in such terrible condition

The road itself does not appear to be part of Brandon. When I look at the City of Brandon's own zoning maps, the road appears to be part of Elton Municipality, while the airport itself is part of Brandon.  
 
Neither does it appear to be a provincial road. It is on a provincial road allowance, but it is not a numbered road, so I'd be surprised if the province has any plans or responsibility.  
 
My guess is that the road is officially the responsibility of the Rural Municipality of Elton, the city of Brandon would have an interest in fixing it, so would be involved, and that the province and the federal government would be involved from the infrastructure level.  
 
I don't doubt that there's a plan to improve it, but there's probably 4 governments at three different levels involved.

I heard that it would be paved in the fall - I believe it was in the Brandon Sun? Just a few months to go before it will be fixed!
