Not sure if Elsbeth Reid center still has a store (you have to qualify to shop in) and each item was very reasonable.

There used to be a "mitten tree" where you would place mittens for families that needed them.

I have seen scarves etc tied downtown during winter months for those in need.

I would gladly take them off your hands. As a teacher we can always use extra toques, scarves, and socks as some children are not always prepared. I can assure you that they would be put to use.
