    For military or veterans only. Do you find it disrespectful for Christmas lights or music on before Remembrance Day?

    My father fought in the Second World War and he said that it doesn’t bother him as long as we take the time on Remembrance Day to remember their sacrifices. My dad was lucky and got to come home, but many of his friends did not.

    And neither do my 3 family members that are veterans. I’m sick of this same discussion every year.  
     
    They fought for our freedom so people could make their own choices.

    how is it disrespectful? I see this claim every year around this time on social media. Just because someone doesn't like people putting up and turning on winter light displays, does not make it disrespectful.  
     
    I think it's more disrespectful to make the claim in the first place. Everyone has their own way of respecting those who have fought and those who have died while serving.
