Just curious what people's practices are regarding tipping a tattoo artist? Is it expected? If so, what percent of the total cost? I realize this will vary greatly. What are your experiences regarding tattoo artists in Brandon?

People spend 2,000 on a tattoo no bigger than their forearm, the tip better be i:ncluded lmfao.

If it’s a custom piece that the artist is spending a lot of their own time designing and drawing you should tip decent, if it’s a predrawn that they just print out the stencil and go then it’s not as big a deal. I’ve tipped hundreds of dollars on some of my tattoos, and nothing on others.

Tip mine, but he's also a very good friend I can call on anytime for help and he and his family will drop everything to help. He and his wife (she tattoos as well) support many addictions, women shelters, and children groups almost so much that they live pay check to pay check and spend very little on themselves. So the little extra I give him for the amazing work he does on me, I know it'll go to taking his family out for a supper or helps someone in need.  
If I didn't know him and how he and his wife help people out, I would probably only give maybe $10/hour. But just like any other tipping discussion or opinion, you have to be happy with whatever you give and I would never give anything to anyone that gave me poor customer service.

Lindsay at Blood & Iron is one of a kind. Uber talented, and super easy to sit with for an hour! Couldn't recommend enough.  
 
As with anything, IMO, tip when you can, but don't shame people who can't afford to, we're all just trying to get by.
