Good morning. I’m hoping someone can help me. I currently own a timeshare (lucky me...not so much). I very much am working to try and get out if it but holy man, this isn’t proving to be very easy. I am convinced no one will buy it, as much as I would even give it to them. I have contacted a company that guarantees they will get me out of it for only one arm and one leg equaling $5000.  
 
Has anyone been through this successfully? Is there a firm or lawyer that is local that I could contact? I would appreciate any advice I could get. Thank You in advance.

It was out of country but it was obvious very early in that we were scammed...or not really scammed but sold a fake bill of goods. Granted we didn't pay much for it so it wasn't the end of the world...if you're in for a lot of money that may not be an option.

A timeshare is a timeshare. Unless you want to purchase it from me it really doesn’t matter where it is.

There was a story about this not very long ago on a CBC documentary show. I think it was Marketplace. I don't remember if they had helpful advice aside from don't just give money away based on a promise to deliver. It might be worth looking up anyway.  
 
On the show, it featured someone who sent money to a company who said they would get them out. They never delivered and so the person lost all of their money.

there is more to this question than your curt response. where it is does matter because there are different laws and options. whatever you decide, I know this quite well, 99% of the companies out there to help you get out of it are just scams selling you on them listing it or transferring it or ...all for a fee without a guarantee

Follow some of the suggestions in the links provided by other users. I could see $500.00 fee for advertizing your site but never $5,000.00. They are taking you for a ride.
