To stay in US or return to Canada must be weighing heavily on the minds of many snowbirds especially those who are seniors or have comprised immune systems. The last thing I would want is to be stuck in a USA hospital and have to deal with my Canadian health insurer. Does coverage apply to a pandemic?

Coverage is a question that I hope people are getting clarification on directly from their providers if the answer is guiding any decisions they are making.

In the next month or so to come, I'll not be shaking hands to welcome back friends and relatives returning from warmer climes.  
 
On the other hand, it's probably already too late for that. It's more likely that I'll catch (or have caught) that virus at Walmart or the drug store or the clinic.  
 
On the other other hand... it seems that risk is directly proportional to your age and to the state of health. If you are young and healthy then there's probably not much too worry about. The rest of us might worry.  
 
 
And meanwhile I'm saving the Brandon Sun - as a good substitute for toilet paper. (When I was a young one the outhouse at the grandparents farm was stocked with the last year's Eaton's and Simpson's catalogues.)  
 
We live in interesting times. And always have.
