Their Facebook page says Winnipeg Tuesday morning starting 0930. Anyone know if plans are to fly over Brandon?

sure the exact route they are taking over the city other than coming up from the south of the city. Guess they also don't want everyone gathering in one spot either.

My guess would be anywhere with a clear view of the sky, less obstructions in the way the better.

They will be landing at the airport to refuel.

You might be able to hear them communication with Winnipeg Tower through this Live ATC link

They just flew over our house on Grand Valley Road from the south heading north to airport. Hope to see them again when they leave.

Just 8 planes in all our pics from here in Brandon but a friend sent me a pic of their fly-over in Winnipeg this morning and there were 9 planes in his photo. Maybe technical difficulties with the ninth plane?

Just saw a video of flying over Virden, so long gone by the looks of it!
FWIW unless eyes are deceiving me I count 9 at Virden. Maybe the snag that got in the way of takeoff this afternoon effected plane #9 at Brandon!

was one plane, Snowbird 11, that took off after the others. So not sure why they had 8 in the formation over Brandon.

This pic isnt very good and didn't make the gallery, but it was taken just as they were coming in from the South... already 8 at that time. Gather Sun has a story coming tomorrow, maybe something there to make clearer:

The Brandon Flight Centre employee I was talking to said one of the aircraft had to break off and land early, as they suffered a bird strike. Nothing major apparently, but that's why you didn't see 9 in their formation over Brandon.

Thanks for sharing that, that would make sense. Kiddo was every bit as impressed by 8 as 9... glad nobody was hurt!

you listen carefully, as it goes past, you can hear a thump. Then the jet goes up to gain altitude. Don't see any smoke from the engine though.

One of the planes had to land early in their display over Brandon because of a bird strike, so there is a possibility of another bird strike.

the person who took the video will provide investigators with that video file. While it can be seen on YouTube, the original video would give investigators the best look at want may of happened. It would be easier to analyze the raw video than one that was uploaded to YouTube.
