I’m needing some shorts as the weather gets nicer, so I went to the mall in search of some new ones. However, I didn’t realize you couldn’t try on clothes at any of the stores.  
The sales people at 2 different stores told me to just purchase a bunch of shorts, take them home and try them on, and bring back what I don’t want for a full refund. What I fail to see is- how is it safer to take the items into my home to try them on, and then bring them back to the store? This makes no sense to me. Wouldn’t it be more risky to have clothing items brought back into the store that have been into someone’s home? I think it makes more sense to try on the clothing in store, that way the clothes don’t enter people’s cars/houses etc. Just my observation...  
Anyways, does anyone know of any stores actually allowing you to try on clothes? I could likely buy a shirt without trying it on, but call me crazy, I need to try on shorts/pants prior to purchasing. Thanks in advance!

I was told something very similar last week...fitting rooms are closed in the store I visited and even though it was a piece of clothing that I didn't necessarily require a fitting room to try on, the store employee politely discouraged me from trying on in the store as anything I tried on would then have to be put "in quarantine." She also suggested I purchase and take home to try on and if/when I returned the item, it would have to be put "in quarantine." On the positive side of this, I am glad that they are accepting returns as I have heard of some stores that are not accepting returns at this time. Personally, I'm not comfortable or ready to start trying clothing on in-store, and not sure I'm ready to take it home to do so either. That being said, I also am going to need to make some purchases as I have actually lost weight during my self-isolation!

Was just at Warehouse One today and I tried on clothes at the store.

I saw an article that many stores were placing returned items in to quarantine for a set amount of tine before they finish processing them and returning them to the shelves.  
I don’t know if that’s what the stores at the mall are doing, but it would make sense. If people try on a bunch of clothes at the store and then put them back on the shelf... well you together the picture.  
They could try a policy where you exit the fitting room and place unwanted items into a bin right there to be left for a certain amount of time, but it likely boils down to convenience for them, and the thought that many people won’t bother returning the items after they buy them.

This makes sense. Didn’t think of that, clothes going into “quarantine” following return. Thanks for the heads up
