Why is the entrance to the boat launch at Queen Elizabeth Park closed? I think the city should open it up so people can go and barbeque and launch boats or canoes or kayaks we pay taxes to have access to our park. What can be done about this?

Services....maybe parks and recreation.

launched 2 kayaks there last year without any troubles. I just walked down the rocks and dropped in just like anywhere else.  
If you want a boat launch go to Kirkaldy and launch there, you can back a boat trailer right in there. But if you're concerned about canoes and kayaks, you can launch them anywhere anytime. If you're concerned about not being able to carry them with 1 person, get a little cart for $50.00 from Can Tire. Don't know why the city would have to maintain a boat launch for a kayak or canoe.

Just saw someone launching a boat there yesterday.

This boat launch is a private launch for the brandon water ski club. So unfortunately you can’t launch there unless your part of the club.

It’s a real shame the other launch by Kirkaldy is real sketchy.

Was told once it was for members of the waterski club only. How that can be on public land I don't know. I sent an email once to the mayor regarding it , because the other two launches suck , and got no response.

It’s a shame the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on stages, entertainment areas and sculptures but city can’t kick in few thousand dollars to pour some fill at the boat launch and make it usable.

Goes in the river? I’ve always wondered if it was safe to take my pontoon boat for a cruise on the river.

Of boat should be allowed to go in the river. I wish we’d see more people boating in there. And yes, it’s a damn shame the city doesn’t have a launch for everyone. We shouldn’t have to travel to the lakes out of town to enjoy the boat.
