My hubby was asking if I knew the oldest operating restaurant in Brandon. I'm thinking it's the McDonald's on Richmond. Am I correct? Or am I forgetting one?

Maybe Comfort Kitchen location. I believe it used to be called the Princess Cafe.

Komfort Kitchen used to be Princess Cafe. Used to waitress there.

I don't know for sure but I'd say if we're looking for a restaurant that hasn't changed location or ownership over the years then I'm thinking Pizza Express or something?

How about Patches which use to be Peggy Sues. Had the jukeboxes mounted on the walls at every booth.

We were thinking about restaurants that maintained their name. Lots of buildings have seen restaurants in them over the decades. We never thought of Beef n Barrel - neither of us got to go there as kids. Both of us remember lots of restaurants being in several buildings, but under different names.

Chicken Delight has been at it's present location since '89, and I believe it may have been there in '84 or earlier.

McDonalds on Richmond was mid 70's

Keg late 70's

Albert Kokono has run 2 different restaurants in Kokonos downtown and current Albert's.

As far as being run by same family Beef and Barrel run by Brian Kilborn family would be up there.

Downtown city hotels have been running long times but under different managements.

Romano Pizza is older than Pizza Express.

I haven't been there (or ordered from there, for that matter) for years, but I recall that place from my childhood. Not that that is saying much (21 years ago lol).

How about The Velvet Dip? I think it’s been operating under the same name well before McDonald’s came to town.

i saw a picture of the Guess Who playing on the roof of the Velvet Dip. 1969 or 70 I think

Velvet Dip was in operation when I was a kid back in the late 60’s, it doesn’t run year round though.
