Does anyone know why the lab at Western Medical Clinic is closed?

My guess would be that since it’s a privately run lab out of Winnipeg it wasn’t bringing in enough money to make it worth while for them to be open. Just speculation

I thought you had to call ahead to make an appointment with the lab. We get ongoing blood tests every few months and was never told otherwise. Did the clinic tell you anything or where you will now have to go?

My pharmacy and they contacted my dr for a pres:cription refill

The lab is closed. The clinic posted a statement that it wasn't by their choice and they are working at finding a new lab.

I was just at the Western Medical Clinic on Monday for a pre-op appointment; while I was there, I met with a nurse, my family doctor, had an EKG done and had blood drawn all in the same building - this was very convenient.  
 
I think it will make it harder for some clients to go elsewhere for lab tests - not everyone has a car or can get around easily. I hope that the WMC is able to find some way to get their lab up and running again!
