You have to have prove that you had the test and/or public health told you to stay home.
It also for many employers has to because of a good reason. example. you decided on your holidays to go east when you come back you have to isolate for 14 days. employer wouldn't pay you for those days and I am pretty sure EI won't either as there was no good reason for you to go that way,
not sure that you have to use your own sick time first. this I thought was so you didn't and could save that for other things but could be wrong.
