The Premier is hardly qualified to make pandemic decisions and i bet he is relieved that he isn't the one calling the shots.

I was glad yesterday to be out and seeing the majority of people still wearing masks!

I agree with a previous poster about social distancing complacency. You walk into a big store now and most people are not social distancing. The masks seem to be giving a false sense of security and the fact that many people are touching the masks, pulling them down, throwing them into there cars and reusing....they are probably way more likely to pick up a virus with the mask use.

I will probably continue to wear a mask until there is a vaccine. I don’t want it and I don’t want to be responsible for giving it to someone. I would feel horrible calling people to tell them that I exposed them. Especially if I could have prevented it with a simple thing like wearing a mask. Why are people so resistant?

Same policy in this thread as others. Facts matter, trustworthy sources matter, speculative misinfo isn’t welcome. Hearing something from a YouTube/viral video rando doesn’t meet that description. Thanks!

From today's provincial bulletin, this region is being used as an example for Winnipeg as cases in the city rise:

"There has been a concerning increase in the number of cases in Winnipeg, with many cases having large numbers of close contacts. Recent success in the Prairie Mountain Health region shows that focusing on the fundamentals can reduce the transmission of COVID-19. The chief provincial public health officer strongly encourages residents of and visitors to Winnipeg to focus on these fundamentals to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

People must stay home if sick. Wash/sanitize your hands, cover your cough and physically distance when you are with people outside your household. If you cannot physically distance, you should wear a mask to help reduce your risk. Reduce the number of close contacts outside your household, and avoid closed-in or crowded spaces. "

I am still going to wear my mask. being at high risk I am not chancing it. I do have to briefly take my nose out to take a breath because of anxiety but for the most part I am usually ok.

I also think the the groups should be smaller (my opinion) just because it is just a bigger risk and with school being open there is more people being in contact with other people so, if another outbreak happens it can spread more quickly.

And not to mention and I am not against it. There are a lot of plates that are from all over the province. I am glad that they are taking the opportunity to travel Canada but again you don't know.

I wish I could visit my Family but they live in highly infected areas. So I talk to them on the phone and see them on my computer

I am just really disappointed that my favourite volunteer charity had to cancel this year because of the virus. Operation Red Nose. This would of been my 11th year running. Maybe it will be a lot better by November. **Luck**

in the Public Health Act Part II.

The Premiere bases his decisions on the
recommendations and advice of the
Public Health Officer but he is the one who has the authority to enforce mandates in the province.
