Does anyone know if MPI ever has road tests before they date they are scheduled? Can you ask them to call you if someone cancels? My daughter failed her road test and has to wait over 8 weeks to go again. So frustrating for people. The examiner told her she could book two weeks from now and we knew it would likely be a bit longer but 8 weeks seems so ridiculous.

My daughter has had some problems with the tests. She is a great driver (for her age), but panics a bit during the tests, and does something out of character for her. Months between each test. We do not have enough testers here.

My son failed his first road test, and there was a 10 week wait for another test. If you are willing to travel out of town, we ended up booking in Dauphin and only had to wait 10 days. If I remember correctly, the wait in Portage was also significantly shorter than Brandon (about 2 weeks).

Check the MPI website, for available Road Test appointments which have either been re-opened or become available due to cancellations.

The wait time now right should be much less than 8 weeks now , however when testing had restarted in July post Covid there was an extremely huge backlog ... which is why retests were scheduled further away.  
 
Also since mid August, Driver Testing has eliminated a few of the Rural Mobile Testing Locations in each region. This has allowed for more examiners being available at the major Service Centres.

When my child took theirs a year ago it was 8-12 weeks to re-book. I know many parents drove their kids to Dauphin as you could get in MUCH sooner!
