This is the second time now i found that the onions seem to look exactly like the onions i buy in the store. They have no fresh garden taste and have numerous layers of onion skin that you would find in a store bought onion. The potato and carrots and other produce seem garden fresh but not the onions. Has anyone else had this experience. The reason I noticed this is because I buy a lot of onions from the HutteriteColony‘s and they don’t have layers of old skin on them and they taste so much different And fresh. Just curious?

It has not been a good year for onions. The onions you bought are fresh. Also, at this time of year, the onions will have thicker skin.
