What kind of caterpillar is this?

Last night we were at the discovery centre and my boyfriends little brother comes running up with the creepiest bug i have ever seen!
It looked like a GIANT green inch worm that hangs of trees except for the fact that it had bright green and Bright blue spikes all over it, as well as four orange balls with black spikes on them on his head.
Just wondering what this thing could have been? I uploaded two photos of him on my profile.
Perhaps some kind of moth?
