Severe thunderstorm watch
8/26/2008 at 6:42 PM
From Environment Canada....
Thunderstorms are forecast this afternoon and into evening. Some may become severe.
This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.
Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.
A cold front moving in from Saskatchewan will encounter warm moist air in Manitoba and trigger thunderstorms this afternoon and into the evening. Some of these storms may become severe and produce hail, gusty winds of heavy downpours.

Looking at radar there are two lines of storms right now, one to the Southwest and one to the Northeast. If the Southwest one stays together there's a chance it'll clip us in the next hour or so... but I'm not sure I'd use the word "severe" to describe it at this point. Things are generally pretty ripe out there for things to pop up. Within a couple of hours after the front has completely passed we should be able to breath easier as far as watches/warnings.
