Orion's-Belt said "You got me.
Going down the hill is safe yes.
How many people are coming there in groups? Can they guarantee everyone arriving is in the same household ? What about Saskatchewan people that come there. I know lots of people from the 306 use assesipi.
Everything they are telling us is stay home. Limit exposure.
Please explain to me how going to the ski hill does that. Can you go there without using restroom facility’s all day? What about lunch? Have you seen the lunch area on a Saturday? "
- how many people coming in groups? If people follow code red, a few friends can meet at the ski hill but cannot car pool. You’re asking “what if they break a rule”, well, the same thing will happen if you break any other rule. You may face a fine.
- what about people from Saskatchewan? ... well what about them? If they travel to Manitoba they need to follow code red. As far as I am aware, interprovincial travel isn’t prohibited. I’m not sure what you’re really asking.
- will the bathrooms be closed? Good question. I assume the bathrooms would be open. They are open in grocery stores and restaurants that offer take out, not sure why it would be any different there.
- what about lunch? You pack your own. That’s not hard. Put it in a thermos if you want it hot.
- have I seen the lunch area there on a Saturday? Not in a long time, and not with code red rules implemented. But I imagine people will need to eat lunch in their vehicles.
- yes the message has been to stay home. But there are still things that people can do outdoors in a safe way. Skiing, cross country skiing, tobogganing, sledding, bon fire at a park, snowshoeing, skating etc. Gettin fresh air and exercise outside is healthy and poses minimal risk according to the officials behind the decisions. To me this is a good balance, mental health and exercise are important.
If you really feel that skiing is so unsafe, maybe you should write your MLA?
