I thought this was taken off the market but I was able to get a pres:cription from the pharmacy. Is this safe to take now?

Health Canada update can be found at the link below.
TL/DR - Ranitidine that is available in Canada now, has been tested for, and does not contain, the potentially harmful substance that had caused the recall.

Covidsux, Ranitidine is the generic name for Zantac.

It probably comes from a different factory. Sometimes problems are limited to just one factory, or even one particular brand of generic.

Edit: In Canada, sale has been allowed to resume as long as the company tests for the contaminate regularly.

There is pres:cription stuff available that not only works better but is comparable if not better priced, iirc when I was buying Zantac it worked out to be about 5-10 dollars more for 30 doses over the pres:cription I had received.
