The old Arris was starting to have some problems as Westman is not really supporting it any more. So, upon the recommendation of Westman I swapped it out for TIVO.  
 
Mistake. It is the most unfriendly interaction with technology I have ever had. Nothing is logical and even the instructions do not provide what it indicates it will do.  
 
Try setting up to record a series. Use wishlist, one pass or bookmarks, none do as they should.  
 
Calling them for help Monday, had to vent...

OK, that was more worth the wait than TiVo (we're still on Prism). Not only that, but it appears that will make our Chromecasts obsoloete. :O I just hope the apps work better than they do on Prism.

We got switched from the prism to infinity and absolutely hated it.  
The Infini TV is the most non user-friendly thing not to mention the remote is awful  
 
We ended up switching to the TiVo Which still isn’t the best but it’s definitely better than the infinity  
 
We were on the verge of switching to bell MTS until we had awful experience when the tech came to hook up and told us he couldn’t give me what I wanted

I tried infinity tv for a couple weeks and found it to be a lot of steps to do one thing. I miss the prism. It was easy to use. No thought process to record or check what’s on. I can’t imagine being elderly and having to start fresh with infinity tv.

Now that I have mastered Tivo (for the most part) I have few issues. Well, aside from the fact that deleting programs quickly (a necessity for cleaning up the suggestions) has become painfully slow on the main box, which is mildly annoying. You used to be able to rapid-fire 3 or 4 deletes at a time, but now it's one at a time. Annoying, but not worth calling in over.  
 
I have not tried the new platform (my interest is peeked, though!), however, Westman has never had any PVR systems so far that I would call user-friendly.  
The Fibe stuff is great because for the most part, its a single tap of a button. BOOM, recordings. BOOM, menu (with the added preview).  
With Tivo (and maybe arris. It's been 3 years since i've used it) everything is behind another menu.

I wonder how many calls they got from older people who lost their recordings because they accidentally got stuck on the suggestions screen. HINT: personal experience lol.  
 
I don't what is at the backend of what Bell uses, but I think Westman could due to at least try and aim for something similarly user-friendly. I get that cable TV is ultimately in a terminal decline, but do you really want to lose all this potential business to Bell?  
 
Be wise, westman. Remember that you can also likely sell them a cheaper landline too lol.

Westman Cable still makes mini boxes using the same interface before PRISM for those people that don't have a Westman Internet package. The guides still work and the DVRs are independent of each other. I know businesses that have them and my Grandma has one too.
