Does anyone know what Horizon Builders will be building at the front of Brentwood Village (along 18th street)?

Forman Honda is moving down the street some day.

It’s very disappointing to see empty places all over Brandon. If Honda does move is that going to leave yet another empty space. So many businesses in Brandon just move down the street. It’s time to start bringing in some new.

The old honda dealership will be taken over by mazda. So there wont be a vacant Building left like Sobeys. IMO...the city should be putting pressure on shindico to fill that space no matter who is paying the lease.  
 
Also in that lot where the new honda dealership is going.. there is a chance of another business on that parcel of land.

This is just conjecture, but it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for Sobey's to still be paying the lease on that location to contractually keep Shindico from leasing it to Save-On Foods. (That would be a natural location)

Sobeys had about 7 years left on their lease when they moved so they could keep it empty if they wanted to

Mazda will be moving in to the Honda Building. The Mazda building is ancient. At some point within the next few years, Nissan will have a new building beside Hyundai's (warning to those who cut across the 'field' there between McTavish Ave and Victoria Ave. West. Your short cut will be gone soon.)  
 
As for bringing something new, what do you suggest for that location?

I don’t have a suggestion on what else could go into what Mazda would take over. Take a drive around this city. Lots of brand new or recently renovated sit empty. I still stand behind my words on it’s disappointing to see finally some new ground being opened up and it’s all for an existing business, and not something new that could employ someone other then tradesmen. There are lots of “new “ that could come to this city. What do we have here to keep our young adults that start beginning to start their future.

I wish we could get a Costco. Also some new clothing stores would be nice. We don't have much of a variety for clothing

I totally under stand why they are moving as they a) need more space and they are producing a wider number of vehicles in there model lineup. b) told they have to do a reno to comply with corporate guide lines. The part that surprises me about Brandon is why is all the office jobs located outside your downtown core. I under stand why service Canada moved away from down town, but why is there no lawyers, accountants, or financial advisors moving into that building. I know a big issue with this city is with parking which is why i total understand why TD moved out as there was not enough space for employees and clients. why is there not more medical office and business located near the hospital too?

If I remember correctly, the old post office/service Canada building was actually owned by Public Works. They don't actually own much real property and prefer to lease. As far as I know, they've been trying to sell it for years but I don't think they've had any takers - it's a massive space. They won't lease it to anyone but just want to get rid of it.  
 
Also, aren't most lawyers etc already downtown?
